Avviso is a desktop app used to administer enforcement orders like parking tickets. The catch? The software had barely been updated in the last 30 years, resulting in outdated workflows and an inefficient UI. We knew exactly what needed to be done: modernize the software and turn it from an outdated relic into a fast, efficient tool that today’s users actually want to use.
Keeping the familiar, adding the efficient
The biggest hurdle of this project was modernizing the decades-old software without disrupting the teams’ daily workflow. With old habits deeply ingrained in the employees’ minds, every improvement had to blend seamlessly into daily routines. Finding the right balance between preserving familiar workflows and modernizing the interface was crucial. The goal? Making work faster, easier, and more intuitive - without forcing anyone to unlearn what they already knew.
